Our Team
Carl Leader
Carl Leader founded SIM Insurance Technologies with a simple mission: to help insurance agents stay connected to their clients and help consumers better understand, access, and use their insurance benefits.
With nearly three decades of experience in the insurance industry, Carl has held leadership roles across sales, marketing, operations, administration, and executive management. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with agents, carriers, and policyholders, developing a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges that exist throughout the insurance value chain.
Much of Carl’s career has been dedicated to the supplemental health insurance market, with particular emphasis on hospital indemnity, cancer, critical illness and short-term care products. He has helped bring innovative solutions to market that have contributed to the growth and evolution of the senior indemnity marketplace. These experiences have provided a unique perspective on both the evolving needs of policyholders and the critical role independent insurance agents play in helping consumers make informed decisions.
Drawing on those insights, Carl led the development of AGNT, SIM’s mobile application platform designed to strengthen relationships between agents and clients while making insurance easier to understand and use.
Carl also serves as Chief Operating Officer of Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company (GTL), where he is in his 23rd year with the organization. During his tenure, he has served in a variety of leadership positions, including Senior Vice President of Sales, Chief Marketing Officer, and Assistant COO. He has been a member of GTL’s Executive Committee for more than 15 years.
At SIM, Carl brings a practical perspective shaped by decades of experience supporting agents and their clients. His guiding belief is straightforward: Insurance delivers its greatest value when people understand their coverage and use it with confidence.

Angus Walker
Angus Walker is a software architect, technology consultant, and entrepreneur with extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise software solutions across a broad range of industries. As Software Architect at Leading Edge Technology Consulting, he helps organizations modernize legacy systems, build scalable applications, automate business processes, and implement secure cloud-based solutions that support long-term business growth.
His expertise spans software architecture, systems integration, cloud infrastructure, mobile application development, cybersecurity, data management, and development operations. Throughout his career, he has combined technical leadership with a business-focused approach, helping organizations leverage technology to improve efficiency, reduce complexity, and create measurable value.
Angus holds an MBA in Finance from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, bringing a unique blend of business strategy and technical expertise to every project. His experience as both a consultant and business leader enables him to bridge the gap between organizational objectives and technology execution.
At SIM Insurance Technologies, Angus led the design and development of the AGNT platform, including its secure cloud architecture, native mobile applications, API ecosystem, subscription management infrastructure, and client engagement tools. Working closely with insurance industry stakeholders, he helped transform the vision for AGNT into a scalable platform designed to strengthen connections between agents and their clients.
At the core of Angus’s work is a simple philosophy: Technology creates its greatest value when it solves real business problems and makes life easier for the people who use it.
